Why Buying Local is Worth Every Cent

I am totally anti-Walmart, but I was still surprised to see these stats. Not only is it better for the environment to buy local, but it’s better for our economy.

Organic Skin Care for the Whole Family

Buying organic skin care products ensures you are avoiding harmful pesticides and toxic GMO’s. Babies have very sensitive skin and absorb more than an adult would. That’s why it is so crucial to use products that are non-toxic. Men can be hard to shop for in this department. They should be able to take care of their body’s natural defense against disease and infection without worrying about being labeled unmanly. The skin, after all, is the largest organ of the body. Organic skin care makes sense for all people because it not only maintains your skin properly but also does not harm the environment with harsh chemicals. This website offers many different products for the whole family, including soap, shampoo, body wash, shaving cream, moisturizer and aftershave. All are of excellent quality.bayberry-lotion

One of the moisturizers contains green tea and algae. These all-natural ingredients combine to keep facial skin from cracking and bleeding and leave no oily residue. Together with the tingling tautness of the aftershave, they offer men the ability to shave without pain. In fact, the moisturizer is so good that it also serves as a body cream. The organic oils will smooth out your peeling, wind-burned hands in the winter time, and they will also soothe your painful, cracked skin during the summer. Then their are gentle unscented soaps for your little ones. They give a nice lather and can be used on every part of the body. Keeping your skin healthy never felt so good! Organic skin care products from this website also help beautify the Earth. Each time someone purchases a product, the company will plant a tree! The company’s commitment to the planet is obvious, and the products are well worth it.

Importance of Organic Cotton

I thought I would write a bit more and share why I am so passionate, not only about organic baby products but all natural products too.  Having been in the research industry, it was really an eye opener as to what chemicals can really do to us and our unborn children.  If you think of your skin as a sponge, that is exactly what it is.organic-cotton

Organic cotton firstly is cotton that has been produced without using harmful chemicals.  If only you knew what those chemicals show in testing then you would think twice about how you view using organic products on your children.  If you think about it, the clothing we wear has very harmful chemicals in them, from the toxins in the dyes that are used, added to that the cotton has been chemically treated while growing and then in the production process.  So chemical upon chemical right?  So, if your child is wearing cotton and all these cheap clothes that are on the market, you know what is on their precious little skins right?  CHEMICALS, very harmful ones at that.  This can only explain why so many children have some sort of skin irritation and or rash. Not to mention that these chemicals can lead to cancers.

Your baby is wearing clothing from morning to night, so the skin exposure is rather large as the clothing covers the baby’s body basically from head to toe.  The skin absorbs everything that is placed on it.

We must really give this some food for thought.  Even though you may think organic baby products are expensive, they last longer, feel better and you know that your baby is safe and healthy, this is worth more than having a thousand different outfits.

Don’t you think?

What I Learned After My Oldest Child

Image courtesy of David Castillo Dominici / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

When you find out that you’re pregnant, everyone delights in telling you what to expect. Sometimes it feels like they particularly enjoy telling you what all the movies and magazines omit while discussing the glory of parenthood. Instead, they prefer focusing instead on the gory bits of parenthood (…or maybe that’s just my friends).

Despite all the well-intentioned advice and gross-out stories, however, there really were a few things that caught my by surprise after my first child…and again after my second, after I’d assumed I was an expert at this parenting thing. [Read more...]
